My Second Day

I woke up at 7:00 to Mr. Woolner knocking on my door. My bunk mates and I did not want to get up. Eventually, we convinced ourselves to get up and get ready. Once we were all ready, we headed down to the common room. We hung around in the common room for a while and then sat down for breakfast. We had an outstanding breakfast! We had eggs, sausage, tater tots, and a blueberry muffin. My favorite part of the breakfast was probably the sausage. Our table just kept getting more and more. Something that really surprised me was the blueberry muffin. I do not like blueberry muffins but my friends tried one and said they were delicious. They convinced me to try it and I actually really liked it. After breakfast, we had a few minutes to talk and then we met with our counselors in our meeting spots. Again today, we played Whoosh, and this time we were a little faster. Max showed us our route on the map and before we knew it we set off for our big hike. On our hike, we saw many amazing plants, animals, insects, and views. At first, we were all excited. As we got farther and farther, many of us got tired and we had to take a lot of breaks. When we felt tired or depressed, Max would play a game with us. My favorite game was Camouflage. Camouflage was a game that was related to hide and seek but we twisted the rules a little bit. There were some very steep parts, but we powered through them. Eventually, we made it to the top of Firescrew. Therefore, we got a surge of energy. With our confidence to reach the top of Cardigan, we made it to the top with ease. At the top, we sketched and I sketched the windmills that you could see from the view. Also, we saw and sketched a bogue. However, we were not done yet. It took us a while to get down. On our way down, we saw the worlds biggest tree in New Hampshire. When we started to get tired, we would play camouflage. Finally, we finished our hike. We met in our meeting spots and congratulated each other. We were all super, super tired. Then, after the meeting, I took a shower. Later, I had dinner. We had really good burgers. We also got sugar maple cookies, which tasted a lot like gingerbread cookies to me. Again tonight, Mr. Woolner told us a story. This time it was about a bird. The story was written by a relative of Mr. Woolner. The stories were super cool and we all enjoyed them. We then brushed our teeth and got ready for bed. At last, we got our candy before bed, like last time, and went to bed.

Movement

At Cardigan, there were many different occasions of Movement. Movement is people, things, and ideas, that move across the earth; to and from. To start off, the 7th Grade went to Cardigan mountain from HMHS (Hopkinton Middle High School). Another Example could include, the glacial erratic that came from Canada to the semi-summit of Mt. Cardigan. Also, the spaghetti recipe that they used for dinner at Cardigan originated from Italy. Dandelions came from Europe to Cardigan as well. Furthermore, a beach tree is a tree that moved to Cardigan. Lastly, the idea of stone walls came from England and Scotland and was found at Cardigan. So, As you can see, there are a bunch of examples of movement at Cardigan and those were just a little pinch of them.
